Karachi: A survey conducted by the fire brigade officials has revealed that there are no fire extinguishers in the multi-storied buildings at II Chandragarh.

Incidents of fire are happening in multi-storied buildings in Shahr Qaid, in view of this, the fire brigade officials conducted a survey of various tall buildings in the city, in which frightening revelations have come out.

According to the preliminary report from the fire brigade officials, the fire brigade officials have started the survey of important buildings in Kirachi. were declared unsatisfactory.

77% of the buildings did not have fire fighting equipment and personnel, among the 45 buildings that were surveyed, there is not a single building in which there is an expert firefighter while 34 thousand people work in these buildings.

The fire brigade’s survey report has revealed alarming revelations, there are 16 such buildings on II Chandragarh Road which do not have water connection to extinguish the fire.

According to the report, 29 buildings did not have fire control equipment while none of the 45 buildings had fire safety certificate for fire control.

It can be estimated from this report that thousands of citizens are working in unsafe buildings and there are no safety measures in case of fire in these buildings.

In this regard, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has said that a fire safety audit of all the buildings in the city will be conducted so that the buildings are kept safe at all levels and the presence of fire extinguishers will be made mandatory in every building.
