Karachi: A 6-member gang including a female extortionist involved in extortion from traders and the murder of a trader was arrested in Shahr Quaid.
On December 5, a businessman named Bilal Murshid was shot and killed by armed suspects at his shop in New Karachi Industrial Area, after which an investigation team was formed under the leadership of SSP Central Faisal Abdullah Chachar, the team raided various places in the city. Among the arrested accused are Muhammad Yusuf, Muhammad Adil, Zameer Chandio, Nabil Ahmed Gohar, Sadaf and Nader Ali, while the accused named Abdul Samad, Shayan alias Shanu, Sadiq and Muhammad Ismail are still absconding.

SSP Central further informed that the gang of extortionists operates in 2 sections, the first faction collects informants, Riki and information while the second faction shoots and kills if extortion is not paid, the mastermind of the extortion gang is Abdul Samad while Reiki and information work is done by Yusuf, Ismail and Sadiq.
In this group, Zameer, Adil, Nabeel and Shayan work as shooters, the accused also use women for the crime. During the investigation, the suspects have revealed that they demanded extortion from a businessman in the Federal B area and fired at his vehicle when he did not pay the extortion.
Similarly, in New Karachi, an extortion of 5 million rupees was demanded from a rice trader and for non-payment of extortion, the shop of the trader was fired upon. , also fired at a spectacle shop in Kharadar.
Five 9 mm pistols have been recovered from the possession of the arrested extortionists, more than 13 cases have been registered against the accused in different police stations of the city.
SSP Central Faisal Abdullah Chachadar says that the arrested accused were running a network in an organized and strong manner, raids are going on to arrest their other associates.
