Biggest bid ever for Markhor hunting in Chitral

Hashivar: In Chitral, the American citizen hunted the Markhor and paid six and a half crore rupees for it, which is 2 lakh 32 thousand dollars.

It is the largest bid of its kind in Lower Chitral, said American citizen Darren James Millman. After a successful bid, Toshi Sha Sha Game Reserve hunted the Markhor in Lower Chitral, the length of the Markhor was 45 inches.

Initially, the number of Makhors in Chitral was steadily decreasing but since the establishment of conservancies and gamer reserves with community participation, their numbers have been increasing.

Breeding of Markhors has now increased significantly and today they number in the thousands.
