Rawalpindi: The court rejected the anti-corruption plea of former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry for further physical remand.
Additional Sessions Judge Sohail Anjum delivered a reserved judgment, in which the court rejected the further physical remand request of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry. The anti-corruption department’s order to send former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry to jail was challenged. The Additional Sessions Judge remarked that the 2-day remand was sufficient. The civil judge made the right decision to send the judicial.
Earlier, in the petition filed by the anti-corruption department to challenge the judicial remand of Fawad Chaudhry, it was said that the civil judge made a wrong decision to send him to jail on judicial remand instead of physical remand. 35 lakh rupees received from the private housing society should be recovered from the accused. The decision of the civil judge to send him to jail should be declared null and physical remand for 5 days. The Additional Sessions Judge had accepted the anti-corruption legal team’s request for hearing.
During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry was also presented in the court while the lawyers presented their arguments, after which the court reserved the verdict.
Speaking on the occasion of court appearance, Fawad Chaudhry said that I don’t see elections happening. If elections are held, I will definitely participate, we are political people. A case has also been registered against me for bribery of 15 thousand rupees for installing carriages. A case of urea sack fertilizer has also been registered, the aim is to stop me from the election. If the election is scheduled, the campaign will be conducted in full force.
