Peshawar: The court restrained the Election Commission from issuing a strict verdict in the PTI election symbol case.
Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice Faheem Wali heard the supplementary petition filed in the High Court regarding PTI’s election symbol Bat, in which PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and Shah Faisal Atmanakhil Advocate appeared.
During the hearing, Barrister Gohar Khan told the court that the Election Commission had given notice to PTI on December 8 in the intra-party election case. PTI challenged the notice in which the Peshawar High Court restrained the Election Commission from taking a final decision till the 19th. The Election Commission separated the intra-party case and election symbol cases separately.
Barrister Gauhar Khan added in arguments that the Election Commission issued a second notice in the election symbol case and ordered to appear on December 18. We filed a supplementary application. It is our request that the Election Commission should be prevented from taking a harsh decision. We fulfilled all the legal requirements and submitted the documents to the Election Commission.
Justice Faheem Wali inquired that you will appear on December 18, to which Barrister Gauhar replied that yes, we will appear before the Election Commission on December 18.
Later, the court stopped the Election Commission from issuing a tough decision and postponed the next hearing of the case till December 19.
