Karachi: In Korangi Madina Colony, the husband sprinkled petrol on his wife and set her on fire out of suspicion, and he himself died after sustaining severe injuries.

On being informed about the incident, the residents of the area extinguished the fire on the body of both with their help and with the help of volunteers of Chhepa, they rushed to Civil Hospital Burns Ward in a critical condition, where the husband died after being treated for some time. .

The severely injured wife recorded her statement to the police and held the husband responsible for the incident, whose video statement also went viral on social media.

In this regard, SHO Zaman Town Rao Rafiq said that 28-year-old Jameel Ahmed and his wife 22-year-old Muskan were seriously injured in the incident of fire inside the house in Korangi No. 2 Coast Guard Chowrangi Madina Colony. He was brought to Civil Hospital Burns Ward in critical condition.

According to the SHO, the doctors said that both the husband and wife have suffered burns up to 80% and their condition is critical. The incident was said to be self-immolation due to financial hardship and non-payment of house rent by the owner of the house, who was upset about vacating the house.

SHO Rao Rafiq said that, however, Maskan, who was severely burnt in Burns Ward, has recorded his statement that her husband Jameel had sprinkled petrol on her and set her on fire out of suspicion, and he himself got burnt in the same fire.

In response to a question, the woman said that her husband had taken petrol from the bike and he suspected me that I did not like him but someone else and he used to fight while my husband He was also addicted to ice and powder.

Rao Rafiq further said that the burnt husband and wife also have a one-and-a-half-year-old son, while in the room where the fire incident took place, some goods and the window curtain were burnt, while the entire ceiling was blackened by the smoke. Further investigation is underway.
