The Lahore High Court has suspended the notification of the Election Commission to conduct the general elections with the Executive.

According to the details, Justice Baqir Najafi issued a five-page secured written decision on the petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf against the conduct of elections in Punjab by the executive.

In the judgment, Justice Baqir Najafi suspended the Election Commission’s notification to hold the general elections by the executive and recommended the formation of a larger bench on the petitions.

Along with this, Justice Ali Baqir Najafi sent the file to the Chief Justice.

In his written decision, Justice Ali Baqir Najafi wrote that the nation spends billions of rupees on elections, if the major political parties do not accept the election results, then billions of rupees will be lost to the poor nation.

The interim order states that the Election Commission has to ensure the conduct of fair and transparent elections, providing equal opportunities to candidates and voters to make transparent elections a reality. In the current situation, the general election may not achieve the desired results, which may weaken the future of democracy.

In the written judgment, it is written that the petition has identified a national issue. On which the formation of a larger bench is necessary and therefore this file is now being sent to the Chief Justice.

In the written order of the Lahore High Court, it is clearly written that the notification of recruitment of bureaucracy by the Election Commission is suspended.
