Beijing: People who skip breakfast have a higher risk of cancer over time than people who eat breakfast regularly.
A study conducted by researchers in China revealed that compared to those who ate breakfast daily, those who did not eat breakfast had a higher risk of esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, and gallbladder and bile duct cancer. The risk of cancer was found to be high.
In addition, skipping breakfast can lead to impaired glucose metabolism, chronic inflammation, obesity, and heart disease. Researchers examined associations between breakfast habits and risk of stomach cancer in 63,000 adults who did not have primary cancer.
On the other hand, nutritionist Shweta Gupta of Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh in New Delhi also said that skipping breakfast can increase the risk of stomach cancer because it affects glucose metabolism. Likewise, it can also cause tumor growth through processes such as oxidation and gene microbiota.
