Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan, taking an important step in the preparations for the General Election 2024, has issued a notification for the appointment of District Returning Officers and Returning Officers.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Election Commission of Pakistan, it has been stated that the Election Commission has issued a notification for the appointment of District Returning Officers, Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers for the general elections 2024.
Election Commission appointed ROs, DROs and AROs for 859 constituencies of National and Provincial Assembly. According to the notification, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has been appointed District Returning Officer for the federal capital, 36 District Returning Officers have been appointed for the National and Provincial Assembly seats in the Election Commission of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Similarly, the Election Commission has appointed 41 District Returning Officers for the National and Provincial Assembly seats in Punjab, 30 District Returning Officers for the National and Provincial Assembly seats in Sindh, while 36 District Returning Officers have been appointed for the National and Provincial Assembly seats in Balochistan. have been done.
Apart from this, the Election Commission appointed 266 returning officers and assistant returning officers for the National Assembly seats. 45 Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers have been appointed for National Assembly seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3 Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers have been appointed for National Assembly seats from Islamabad.
Similarly, the Election Commission appointed 141 returning officers and assistant returning officers for the National Assembly seats from Punjab, 61 returning officers and assistant returning officers for the National Assembly seats from Sindh, while 16 returning officers for the National Assembly seats from Balochistan, and Assistant Returning Officers appointed.
The Election Commission has appointed 8 returning officers for the specific seats of the National and Provincial Assemblies. According to the declaration, the returning officers have been appointed for the general elections. Apart from this, the Election Commission of Pakistan has also issued notification of returning officers for certain seats.
According to the notification, Deputy Commissioners will perform the duties of District Returning Officers in the general elections, separate ROs have been appointed for all the constituencies of the National and Provincial Assembly.
Apart from bureaucracy, returning officers have also been recruited from provincial and federal departments. The Election Commission also issued a notification for the appointment of District Returning Officers from Peshawar’s bureaucracy.
According to the notification, there will also be a ban on transfers of election duty officers. Meanwhile, the holidays in the election wing of the Election Commission have been terminated, after which the Election Commission election schedule will be announced in the next phase and the training phase of the returning officers to be appointed next week has started.
