Lahore: IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that under Article 320, the police is subordinate to the Election Commission.
Talking to the media after the ceremony organized to pay tribute to the martyrs of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar said that under Article 23, we are under the control of elections.
He said that whenever the Election Commission asked us for personnel, we will provide them in the same way.
He said that there is a major problem in Kachcha of Sindh because the citizens are being honey-trapped, the taxi driver of Rawalpindi was honey-trapped. There is an island in Kacha of Sindh where his body is dumped.
IG Punjab said that there was another encounter with robbers yesterday, in which three of our jawans were injured. Two days ago there was an encounter in which we killed the robbers there.
He said that discussions are going on with the Sindh Police regarding the incident of taxi driver honey trap and murder.
